DownUnder_Jamie's Story
ANZAC Day baby here. Born in Brisbane at 4:30 AM on April 25th, 1994 — while my grandfather was at the Dawn Service for his fallen brothers.
He drove 90 minutes from the cenotaph straight to the hospital, still wearing his medals. The first photo of me has him in full uniform holding a tiny pink human who didn't yet know she'd been born on the day Australia mourns its dead.
He passed away last year. This is my first ANZAC Day birthday without him.
Lest we forget — and happy birthday to anyone else born on this strange, sacred day.
