Kyiv_Olena's Story
April 26, 1986. Chernobyl exploded at 1:23 AM. I was born 7 hours later in Kyiv, 150 km away. Nobody knew yet what had happened.
My mother says when they brought me home, the rain on the windowsill was strange — thick and gray. She didn't let me outside for 3 weeks.
I'm 39 now and I have two healthy children. The doctors call us 'the Chernobyl generation' — we live with statistics that say we shouldn't.
If you were also born on April 26, 1986 — anywhere in the world — please say hello. I want to know how many of us made it.
